Protection, Bravery, Devotion, and Determination - Thistle

Handcrafted from an antique wax seal from the 1800 Scotland, this talisman features a thistle, which symbolizes protection, bravery, devotion, and determination.

The thistle is the national flower of Scotland, the meaning "No One Provokes Me With Impunity". The national emblem of Scotland, one thistle is said to have saved an entire Scottish army.

A thousand years ago, during the Vikings invasion of Scotland, an advancing enemy warrior stepped on a thistle and cried out in pain inadvertently waking the sleeping Scotsmen. Scottish King Kenneth III was so grateful that he adopted the thistle as his nation's emblem.

This talisman is just over a 1/2” round and hangs on a 18" stainless steel baby ball chain that closes with a ball chain connector clasp. Other types of chains are sold separately.

Each piece of jewelry from The Silver Acorn comes packaged in a tasteful gift box with a meaning card ready for gift-giving.
