Modesty, Virtue and Affection - Violets

Handcrafted from an antique wax seal from the 1800s England, this talisman features a bunch of violets, which symbolize modesty, virtue, affection, watchfulness, faithfulness, love and taking a chance on happiness. According to folklore, dreaming of violets is a sign that a fortune is coming your way.

Violets have much meaning in Christianity. One important meaning associates the violet with Mary and modesty. Indeed, the religious name of Viola odorata is Our Lady's Modesty. Violets also denote spiritual wisdom, humility and faithfulness. Religious art uses violets in paintings to denote humility.

This fine silver talisman is a 5/8" x 3/4" oval and hangs on a 18" stainless steel baby ball chain that closes with a ball chain connector clasp. Other types of chains are sold separately.

Each piece of jewelry from The Silver Acorn comes packaged in a tasteful gift box with a meaning card ready for gift-giving.
