Janus – God of Beginnings Wax Seal

Handcrafted from an antique intaglio made in Europe during the late 1700's to early 1800's, this wax seal charm features Janus, who is the god of beginnings and transitions in Roman religion and mythology. He is usually a two-faced god since he looks to the future and the past. The Romans dedicated the month of January to him.

This fine silver charm is approximately a 5/8" x 7/8" oval and hangs on a 18" stainless steel baby ball chain that closes with a ball chain connector clasp (see second image). Other types of chains are sold separately.
[Shown in first image with the stainless steel cable chain found here: stainless chain ].

Handcrafted in my studio just outside of Houston, Texas, each symbolic wax seal item from The Silver Acorn is hand-stamped in reclaimed fine silver or bronze and will be slightly different and uniquely yours.
