Domestic Goodness - Cat Wax Seal

Handcrafted from a vintage wax seal stamp, this bronze wax seal charm features a cat symbolizing watchfulness. As an ancient symbolic Celtic animal, the cat represents the guardian of the Underworld. However, in Ancient Rome the cat was sacred to Diana, the moon goddess and was considered a guardian of homes and a symbol of domestic goodness.

The fine silver charm is approximately 3/4” round and hangs on a 18" stainless steel baby ball chain that closes with a ball chain connector clasp. Other types of chains are sold separately.

This charm is part of my Gifts That Give program where The Silver Acorn gives $50 from each sale of these items to Corridor Rescue Inc. which is a 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization with primary emphasis on rescuing dogs from the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, TX or Forgotten Dogs of the Fifth Ward which is a 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization who help the forgotten and abandoned animals of the 5th Ward, Houston, TX.

Handcrafted in my studio just outside of Houston, Texas, each symbolic wax seal item from The Silver Acorn is hand-stamped in reclaimed fine silver or bronze and will be slightly different and uniquely yours.
