Handcrafted from an antique intaglio from the 1700-1800's, this talisman features the Trojan horse coming into the city and a solider trying to fend it off.
During the Trojan War, the Greeks built a huge wooden horse, as the symbol of the city of Troy, and left it at the gates of Troy and pretended to sail away. The Trojans believed the huge wooden horse was a peace offering to their gods, so they pulled the giant wooden horse into the middle of the city.
The Greeks had hidden soldiers inside the horse and after the Trojans had gone to bed, the Greek soldiers inside the horse were able to open the gates of the city to let in the rest of the Greek army into the city. The Greeks took the Trojans by surprise in the middle of the night and conquered Troy.
The term “Trojan horse" is symbolic any kind of deception that involves getting someone or a target to willingly allow an enemy into a secure place.
