Hope of a New Day- Eos the Goddess of the Dawn Necklace

Handcrafted from an antique intaglio from the 1700-1800's, this talisman features Eos, the Goddess of the Dawn, opening the gates of heaven so that her brother Helios, the sun God, could ride his chariot across the sky every day. She brought forth the hope of a new day.

In Homer, her saffron-colored robe is embroidered or woven with flowers; rosy-fingered and with golden arms, she is pictured on Attic vases as a supernaturally beautiful woman, crowned with a tiara or diadem and with the large white-feathered wings of a bird.

The talisman is just over 1” round and hangs from either a 14k gold-filled short-long cable chain when done in bronze or a sterling silver short-long cable chain when done in fine silver with a lobster clasp closure. The entire necklace measures 18” long.

Each piece of jewelry from The Silver Acorn comes packaged in a tasteful gift box with a meaning card ready for gift-giving.

Handcrafted in my studio in Spokane, Washington, each symbolic wax seal item from The Silver Acorn is hand-stamped in reclaimed fine silver or bronze and will be slightly different and uniquely yours.
