Handcrafted from an antique wax seal stamp, this talisman depicts a dove in flight with an olive branch close by with the French words "LA PAIX" featured above. The English translation of this is "THE PEACE" and both dove and olive branch are universal symbols of peace.
The seal dates to around the same period as the battle of Waterloo (1815) which ended the Napoleonic wars, so it is possible that this seal was commissioned as a celebration of the peace in Europe which ensued.
The fine silver talisman is approximately 3/4” x 5/8” round and hangs on a 18" stainless steel baby ball chain that closes with a ball chain connector clasp. Other types of chains are sold separately.
