Handcrafted from an antique intaglio from the 1700-1800's, this wax seal charm features Eos, the Goddess of the Dawn, opening the gates of heaven so that her brother Helios, the sun God, could ride his chariot across the sky every day. She brought forth the hope of a new day.
In Homer, her saffron-colored robe is embroidered or woven with flowers; rosy-fingered and with golden arms, she is pictured on Attic vases as a supernaturally beautiful woman, crowned with a tiara or diadem and with the large white-feathered wings of a bird.
The charm is just over 1” round fine silver with 22k gold accents and hangs from a 14k gold-filled medium hammered cable chain with a lobster clasp closure. The entire necklace measures 18” long with a 2” extender chain for those who like necklaces up to 20 inches long.
Handcrafted in my studio just outside of Houston, Texas, each symbolic wax seal item from The Silver Acorn is hand-stamped in reclaimed fine silver or bronze and will be slightly different and uniquely yours.
