Janus – God of Beginnings

Handcrafted from an antique intaglio made in Europe during the late 1700's to early 1800's, this talisman features Janus, who is the god of beginnings and transitions in Roman religion and mythology. He is usually a two-faced god since he looks to the future and the past. The Romans dedicated the month of January to him.

This fine silver talisman is approximately a 5/8" x 7/8" oval and hangs on a 24" stainless steel baby ball chain that closes with a ball chain connector clasp (see second image). Other types of chains are sold separately.
