Handcrafted from an antique intaglio from the 1700-1800's, this talisman features Thorvaldsen’s "Night" scene of Nyx , Goddess of the Night, carrying her children, Sleep and Death, and is accompanied by an owl.
For some that experience pain in the day, the night and Nyx represent a welcome relief. For others, night is a frightening time where you never know what is lurking in the shadows and Nyx symbolizes fear of the unknown.
The talisman is just over 1” round and hang from either a 14k gold-filled short-long cable chain when done in bronze or a sterling silver short-long cable chain when done in fine silver with a lobster clasp closure. The entire necklace measures 17” long.
