Rebirth and Passion - Phoenix and Flame Wax Seal Charm Necklace

Handcrafted from an antique wax seal dating from early 1800 England and an antique wax seal stamp from France, this necklace features a phoenix charm symbol of power, strength, renewal and rebirth and a flame charm which symbolizes zealousness or extreme passion.

According to the Greek historian, Herodotus, the phoenix was a mythical bird from Ethiopia. It was spectacularly large, beautiful and adorned with mind-blowing plumage. The phoenix made a nest of cypress branches, but rather than preparing to lay eggs, the phoenix was preparing to die. While sitting in the nest, the bird created a great deal of heat, and set itself on fire. After three days, the phoenix emerged from its own ashes - reborn and released from the sentence of death, able to live on forever.

The fine silver phoenix charm is approximately 1¼” round and the fine silver flame charm is around 1/2" round and they hang from a sterling silver short-long cable chain with a lobster clasp closure. The entire necklace measures 18” long.

Handcrafted in my studio just outside of Houston, Texas, each symbolic wax seal item from The Silver Acorn is hand-stamped in reclaimed fine silver or bronze and will be slightly different and uniquely yours.
