Handcrafted from an antique intaglio made in Europe during the late 1700's to early 1800's, this wax seal charm features Janus, who is the god of beginnings and transitions in Roman religion and mythology. He is usually a two-faced god since he looks to the future and the past. The Romans dedicated the month of January to him.
This charm is approximately a 5/8" x 7/8" oval fine silver with 22k gold accents and hangs on an 18" surgical stainless steel 3.1x2.0mm small cable chain that closes with a stainless steel lobster clasp.
Handcrafted in my studio just outside of Houston, Texas, each symbolic wax seal item from The Silver Acorn is hand-stamped in reclaimed fine silver or bronze and will be slightly different and uniquely yours.
