Safety Through Strength - Crane on Tortoise

Handcrafted from an antique wax seal from the early 1800’s England, this talisman features a crane on top of tortoise with the sun in sky and a banner with the Latin phrase “Tutum Te Robere Reddam” which translates to “I will give you safety through strength."

A crane holding a stone in its claw is a well-known symbol in heraldry and is known as a crane in its vigilance. At night cranes take turns keeping watch for enemies. A tortoise is the symbol for longevity and is also symbolic of slow, but sure progress.

The fine silver talisman is just under 1/2” round and hangs on a 18" stainless steel baby ball chain that closes with a ball chain connector clasp. Other types of chains are sold separately.

Each piece of jewelry from The Silver Acorn comes packaged in a tasteful gift box with a meaning card ready for gift-giving.

Handcrafted in her studio in Spokane, Washington, each symbolic wax seal item from The Silver Acorn is hand-stamped in reclaimed fine silver or bronze and will be slightly different and uniquely yours.
